Description

New construction of an administration building where the shape of the building reminds of a steam locomotive and the roof terrace of a coal box.

The heating is fed entirely from the waste heat of the machines used in the production of strip pipes. The specific heat requirement corresponds to the value of a low-energy house according to KfW (Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau) and is even 50 % below the requirement according to the Energy Saving Ordinance for new buildings. Clina heating and cooling mats are installed under the ceilings to provide warmth in winter and a pleasant cooling in summer. Two ventilation systems on the roof of the LOK (locomotive) provide the necessary air exchange. With an integrated heat recovery system, almost 90 % of the heat can be recovered.1
